Key Updates

SQL 2019 Support; Windows 2012 R2 Retirement

  • This release of Revolution now includes SQL Server 2019 Express.

    When you upgrade to this version, Revolution will automatically upgrade your SQL Server to version 2019 Express.

    With this change, we no longer support Windows 2012 R2.If you are still running Windows 2012 and attempt to install this version, the installer will issue an error and stop the install.

Notifications

Quotas for Reply Responses

  • When you create notifications that use reply response actions, you can now define additional behavior for when the number of responses meets a defined quota. You can also specify an automated response to anyone responding after the quota is met. See Reply Response.

Notification Reports

  • You can now generate a report that contains setup information for all notifications. Using Status Reports you can generate a periodic report or create one on demand.

Notification Emails

  • When defining that a notification should be sent via email, you can now define a From Address, which will be used as the reply-to address. See Choose Contact Methods.

Other Features

Cisco CUCM

  • The Custom Authenticator Forward URL field setting is now configured to support authenticator redirects for clustered Cisco call managers. See CUCM configuration Settings.

Status Alert Triggers

  • You can now create Status triggers for when notifications complete with an Error or Partial Success status. See Status Alerts.

  • Status triggers based on endpoints can now be configured to trigger when an endpoint switches to an unlicensed state, in addition to the previously supported inactive states. See Status Alerts.

SIP 

  • You can now require anyone using a SIP line to enter a confirmation code, an integer between 0 and 9, before triggering the related notification. See Creating a New SIP Line.

  • The SIP module will now support Secure Real Time Transport Protocol (SRTP) through the use of a SIP general setting (Enable SRTP). See Customizing SIP Settings

Installer

  • The Revolution installer now uses a FIPS-compliant cryptography library. For online customers, no action is required as your information will be updated automatically.

    For offline customers, when you upgrade Revolution, you will need to contact support with information about your new SystemKey. See Obtain your SystemKey.

Copying Actions

  • A Revolution administrator can now copy configuration actions to reduce the set up time of creating new actions. Note that this does not apply to IP device actions. See Other UI Tasks.

Standard User Tags

Self-management Invites

  • When inviting a contact to use the Self-Management Portal, Revolution will now send invitations to all the selected contacts including those that have already registered. Previously the invitations would only go to unregistered contacts. Now, registered contacts will receive a login reminder. When setting up the invitation, you can disable this change and only send to unregistered contacts. See Invite existing contacts to use Self-Management Portal and Mobile app.

Keyword Search for Configuration Settings

  • You can now search for keywords used in any of the Revolution configuration pages, such as used in names or supportive text of the various fields and buttons. Use the search icon in the toolbar. See Common UI Tasks.

Active Directory Authentication

  • You can now enter one or more AD servers, such that Revolution will check user credentials against all servers.

Password Recovery

  • The Revolution login screen now contains a Forgot Password link. When you select the link and provide your username, Revolution will send a password reset to the email address associated with the username.

Import/Export Configuration Actions

  • You can now export and import property information about triggers related to the Mitel Revolution Mobile Application, Desktop Notification Client and Cloud Services. This allows you to duplicate triggers between these services. See Downloading Action Properties and Bulk Updates from CSV.
