2019.4 Release Notes
Notifiers
Webhook Notifier
You can now create webhook interfaces to third-party services. For example, resulting in posts to services such as Slack, Microsoft Teams, and so on.
See Webhook Notifier
Activators
Input Stream Activator
You can configure Revolution to monitor a unicast or multicast G.711 Real-time Transport Protocol (RTP) stream, which creates a trigger to activate a notification, as well as a source endpoint for a Direct One-way Notification.
Email Activator
You can configure Revolution to monitor mailboxes from IMAP or Exchange servers and create triggers based on emails that match defined filtering rules.
See Email activator
SNMP Activator > Mitel Dial Monitor
You can now select variables for the Template Body from the Add Text Variables drop-down menu .
SIP Activator
New Advanced Setting: Ring Timeout.
Note: Only alter these values if instructed to do so by Revolution support.
Adjusting the Ring Timeout value (in milliseconds) causes SIP endpoints to ring for the defined amount of time. If you change the default value, you must also adjust the following to be higher than your Ring Timeout value:
- Global Settings > Notification > "Endpoint Wait Timeout Seconds"
- Global Settings > Endpoints > "Endpoint Reporting Allowance Seconds"
Note: This will slow down your Notifications. Also, because Revolution does not do queuing, for mass outbound dialing tasks you may instead want to look into using Twilio.
Paging Relay
Revolution now recognizes the LineIn of a Paging Relay as an endpoint. You can use this endpoint as the source endpoint of a Direct One-way Notification.
Notifications
Direct One-way
You can now create a notification that relays audio from one endpoint (the Source endpoint) to one or many other endpoints, where the trigger can be something other than the initiating endpoint.
See Direct One-way Notification
Scheduler
GUI Changes
- The Scheduler Menu now has three options: Schedule (was Scheduler), Calendars (New), and Templates (was Day Templates).
- Calendar actions (such as editing, pausing, copying, or deleting) are now available in Scheduler > Calendars (previously available on the Scheduler page).
- You can create calendars without first creating an event. Go to Scheduler > Calendars and select New Calendar.
- Paused events are now more clearly visible with the addition of a pause icon.
- You can now show/hide paused events and show/hide a templates ribbon from above the calendar in the Scheduler > Schedule page.
See Schedule Window, Calendars Window, Templates Window, and Scheduled Notification
New Scheduling Wizard
You can use this new wizard to create events using templates that you have already created on a week-by-week basis. The wizard is available from Scheduler > Templates.
See Using the Scheduling Wizard
Pause All Events for a Date Range
You can now define a date range, per calendar, where all events are to be paused. Available when creating or editing a calendar.
See Pausing events for a date range
User and Contact Import
UI Change: Importing Contacts and Users
Go to Users Contacts & Sites > Import (Previously importing was in the Users and Contacts pages).
See Import from Active Directory for Contacts topic or Import user accounts from Active Directory for Users.
Refresh Active Directory Imports
You can refresh Active Directory imports either manually or automatically.
The Global Settings page now has a new tab: Import Contacts and Users.
See Automatic and manual refresh of Active Directory imports
Additional Updates
Redundancy
Admins can now alter Global Settings on the secondary server, this is limited to Network and Multicast tabs.
Logging
From Logging, the Log Type AuditLog now shows more events related to endpoints, contacts, IP devices, media, sites, areas, tokens, and global settings.
Cisco Phones
Revolution now supports the Cisco 7861, 8821, and 8832 phones.
User Management
Administrators can now perform bulk edit options of Users.
Media Upload
When you upload a large file (Configuration > Media) the Upload button now indicates that it is saving the file.
Revolution API
Added text, audio, and image overrides to the GET ActivateNotification method. You can now use the API to send notifications and override text, audio, and images defined in the notification. Previously, you could only send a notification as it was created.
