Configure Your Phones
Note: Only All Sites Admins have full access to configuration.
Your phones need to register with Revolution in order to use them to send or receive notifications, and to receive data from the phones. The amount of configuration needed, and whether the configuration is primarily done in Revolution or your phone system software, depends on your phone system.
The basic configurations are:
Multicast is highly recommended for audio attached to notifications. Check with your network administrator to confirm that either your network is configured for multicast or Syn-Apps Paging Relay(s) have been installed and configured.
Important: Multicast is required if you're using Poly phones.
Click the link for your PBX system for configuration instructions.
- Configure Your Avaya Phone System – versions 9.x and newer
- Configure your Cisco Phone System – versions 8.x - 14.x supported
- Configure Your Mitel Phones – refer to this section for PBX systems and versions.
- Configure Poly Phones.
- Configure Yealink phones or other phones that can receive a multicast static IP address.
- Create line numbers to trigger live broadcast and intercom notifications. These notification types can only be triggered using line numbers.
- Configure SIP-compliant IP phones that are not running the Syn-Apps IP Device API so they can receive audio attached to notifications.
- Assign a custom name to your phones.
- Group phones together by destination code.
- Unlicense phones you don't want to use as endpoints.
- Multi-site organizations only: Assign sites to phones – manually or dynamically.
A SIP trunk must first be configured in your phone system communication manager before you add SIP lines in Revolution SIP Activator. SIP lines are then available to be assigned to notifications as triggers. Consult your network administrator to find out if a SIP trunk has been set up.
