Desktop Triggers

Create trigger buttons in the Desktop Notification Client that allow your users to activate notifications.

Desktop Emergency Triggers – create a single emergency trigger that appears at the top of the triggers page of the DNC.
Desktop Triggers – You can create any number of desktop triggers that appear in main body of the triggers page of the DNC.

Anyone using the DNC can activate either of these. Depending on how you create them, they can allow a user to enter additional text that will be used as the Title and Body of the notification. See Sending Notifications from the DNC.

Creating Desktop Triggers

Use this procedure to create basic or emergency desktop triggers.

Note: You can only create one Desktop Emergency Trigger. However, you can delete or edit the existing emergency trigger.

Go to Configuration > Other Devices > Desktop Client.
Select New > New Desktop Emergency Trigger or New Desktop Trigger.
For Name, enter a name that is original and describes the notification you wish to send. This string will be displayed as the button label in the DNC.
For Available in All Sites:
- Enable to ensure all your site locations have access.
- Disable and select a Site to limit which site has access.
(optional) For Icon, select an image to appear on the desktop trigger button.
(optional) Enable Restrict to logged in users to limit who can activate a desktop trigger. Users must sign in to the DNC using their Revolution credentials. See Logging In to Your Revolution Instance.
(optional) For Security Code, enter a 1- to 10-digit integer that will be required by any DNC user to activate the resulting notification.

If you leave this field blank, then no security code is required from the DNC user.
(optional) Enable Allow User to Add Text if you want a DNC user to be able to submit additional information when activating the resulting notification.
Select Save.
