Report Notification
Use this type of notification to send Revolution reports to selected contacts, most commonly through email. These reports contain information about the Revolution environment and can be used for monitoring and troubleshooting.

This topic guides you through two different report notification workflows:
- This topic only discusses fields specific to the Report notification type, therefore you should review the Notifications Basics topic to learn about creating notifications.
- Create a Report to include in the notification. See Creating Reports. You can also create a new report while setting up your notification.
- A common use model would be to send these notifications on a regular schedule. Therefore, you should review the Schedule Window topic for information on setting up recurring events.
This procedure guides you through the creation of a scheduled report notification.
This is most commonly used with the Audit Log, Sent Notifications, User Tag, or Triggers types of reports.

Go to Notifications > Manage.
- Select New Notification.
- General:
- For Notification Type, select Report.
- For the other fields, refer to General – what kind of notification is this?

Triggers:
These steps assume you are sending the report on a set schedule and that you have created a calendar event to send the report.
- For Activator, select Scheduler.
- For Calendar, select the calendar containing your report events.
- For Trigger, select the specific event related to this report.
- For Trigger Behavior, select Activate.
If you are triggering the reports in another way, refer to Triggers – how do you want the notification sent?
- Message Details:
- For Report, select the Report you created to send with the notification. Optionally, you can create a New Report from this field. See Creating Reports.
For the other fields, refer to Message details – what content do you want to send?

Action:
Define any responses or actions or triggers for other notifications. See Notification Action Types. There are no fields specific to the Report type in this section.

Endpoints & Contact Selection:
- For Contacts, select those who should receive this report.
- For Choose Contact Methods, select Email.
- For any other fields, you can review Endpoints & Contacts – who and what devices are receiving the notification?
- Select Save.
This procedure guides you through the creation of an Activation Result report notification.
An activation result report generates information about a specific notification, which you can send to contacts via email.
See Status Reports to learn more about Activation Result reports.
There are three main steps to setting up this report notification.
This process guides you through the creation of a report for Activation Results.

Go to Status > Reports.

Select New.

For Name, enter a string that will allow you to easily locate this report.

For Available in All Sites:
- Enable to ensure all your site locations have access.
- Disable and select a Site to limit which site has access.

For Report Type, select Activation Result.

(optional) Enable Include summary in notification body to provide textual information in the notification email. Graphical data is always included.

Select Save.
This is the notification that will send the report to your selected contacts via email.

Go to Notifications > Manage.
- Select New Notification.
- General:
- For Notification Type, select Report.
- For the other fields, refer to General – what kind of notification is this?

Triggers:
Because you will be attaching this to another notification using an Action Type, you can leave this blank.
- Message Details:
- For Report, select the report you created to send with the notification.
- For Title, any information you add will be the Subject of the email.
- For Body, any information you add will be sent in addition to what you may send if you enabled Include summary in notification body in the report.

Action:
You should not do anything in this section.
- Endpoints & Contact Selection:
- For Contacts, select those who should receive this report.
- For Choose Contact Methods, select Email.
- For any other fields, you can review Endpoints & Contacts – who and what devices are receiving the notification?
- Select Save.
You will now add the report notification to a notification for which you want someone to receive detailed information about.
Now that you have created the notification that sends the report, you can use the Send Notification action type to initiate the sending of the report.

Create a new or edit an existing notification.

For Actions, do the following:

For Add a new action, select Send Notification.

For Send Time, it is suggested you select On End, On Error, or On Partial Success.
If you select On Start, your report will not contain any information.

(optional) For Delay, you can enter a time, in minutes, to wait before sending the report notification. This could be useful in case the notification you want to track allows responses.

For Select Notification, search for and select the notification you created with Creating an Activation Result Report Notification.

For the Forward options, it is suggested you not enable these fields for this type of notification.

Save the notification.
