Cisco DX Phone Setup

Have you configured CUCM and Cisco Notifier yet?

There are two additional steps to using Cisco DX phones:

The Syn-Apps APK was included with your Revolution installation and IIS was configured to access it.

Create Cisco Phone Service to install APK to Cisco Phone.

  1. Navigate to CUCM > Device > Device Settings > Phone Services.
  2. Click Add New.
  3. Input the following required information:
    • Service Name: com.synapps.dx.
    • Service URL: http://xx.xx.xxx/UnifiedGui/APK/dx.apk, where xx.xx.xx.xx is the IP of the Revolution server. For example, http://10.10.10.10/UnifiedGui/APK/dx.apk.
    • Service Category: Android APK.
    • Service Type: Standard IP Phone Service.
    • Enable: Checked.
  4. Leave Service Version field blank.
  5. Click Save.
  1. Navigate to Device > Phone.
  2. Find and select the desired phones.
  3. Click the Related Links drop-down list, select Subscribe/Unsubscribe Services, and click Go.
  4. Select com.synapps.dx and click Next.
  5. Click Subscribe.

Phones should automatically reboot and install the app.

  • Launch the DX app.
    Due to phone limitations, Syn-Apps DX app must be manually launched from the phone after it’s installed. You won’t need to do this with updates.
  • Add the DX phones as endpoints to notifications or add them to tags assigned to notifications.
