Setting Up the Mobile Client App
The Honeywell UNP Mobile Application app allows you to extend UNP notifications to mobile devices. People internal and external to your organization can install the Mobile app to receive notifications.
In addition, admins can create various features for use with the Mobile app:
- Trigger buttons that allow UNP users to send notifications. See Create trigger buttons.
- Assistance buttons that allow contacts to request assistance via notifications. See Notifications sent by contacts.
- Geofencing areas to target which contacts receive notifications based on their geographic location. See Create geofence areas for limiting notifications
Important: You must be licensed to use the Honeywell UNP Mobile Application app. Contact your Sales partner if you need to add this module to your UNP license.
There are three basic steps to setting up people to receive notifications on the Mobile app:

Anyone using the Honeywell UNP Mobile Application app must be set up as a contact in UNP before they can use it, this includes your UNP users. See Contacts for information about creating, importing, and managing your contacts.
You can choose to let people create their own contact records using the Self-Management Portal. This allows people to manage for themselves how they want to receive notifications, including via email, mobile, and SMS. They can update their information when necessary and disable or delete any of their contact methods, including their mobile devices. See Contact Invitations for more information.

Send all contacts that will use the Honeywell UNP Mobile Application app a mobile invitation. The mobile invitation is sent in an email with links to the Apple and Google Play stores, along with an invitation code they use to log in to the app, which registers the mobile device with UNP. See Contact Invitations. The Mobile Device Workflow section in the Contact Invitations topic describes the process users will go through after receiving their invitation.

Add contacts to notifications and choose Mobile as one of the Contact Methods. See Mobile Client Notification for an example.
Here's what else you need to know about using the Mobile app

- There are two separate login accounts visible from the Honeywell UNP Mobile Application app Profile page:
- Receiving Account – Contacts are automatically logged in to the Receiving Account when they tap the invitation code in the mobile invite email. Contacts' mobile devices register with UNP and are now visible in the contact records, and are ready to receive notifications.
- Sending Account – Only UNP users can log in to the Sending Account. They log into this account using their UNP user account credentials. Only UNP users can trigger notification assigned to Trigger Buttons. See Notifications Sent by UNP Users.
- When you assign contacts to notifications, in order to send the notification to the Mobile app, you must select Mobile as one of the Contact Methods. See the Mobile Client Notification example.
Important: Existing SA-Announce Mobile app users must install the new Honeywell UNP Mobile Application app. They cannot use the old app with UNP.

- Google ChromeOS devices (Chromebook and Chromebox) that support Android apps can download and use the Honeywell UNP Mobile Application app.
-
To download the Mobile app on a Google ChromeOS devices, the user must enable Settings > Google Play Store.
Not all Google ChromeOS devices support access to Google Play Store (or Android apps). If they don't, users can't download and use the Mobile app.
- Google ChromeOS devices count towards your contact licenses, not your endpoint licenses.
- Using images with ChromeOS devices is not consistent. Some devices may require a camera be attached or installation of a photo app.
