Other VoIP PBX System Setup

Note: Both All Sites and Site Admins can configure SIP trunks.

VoIP PBX systems include those from 3CX, BroadSoft BroadWorks, CallSprout and GoTo Connect. This topic will provide information about these systems, but the process is generic and may be applied to other systems.

The process for setting up your VoIP PBX System, is as follows:

  1. Configure your PBX System

Note: These configurations need to be done in your VoIP PBX system. Consult your PBX system documentation for instructions or ask your network administrator for assistance.

SIP registration technical notes:Closed Revolution should be considered as a single user agent (UA) for all SIP registrations. (The same Call-ID is used for multiple addresses-of-record (AORs) registrations.) Single registration is preferred. Using a SIP trunk is recommended over registering individual SIP endpoints.
    1. Create a SIP Trunk and point it to your OneAlert server.

3CX customersClosed When you create the SIP trunk, set Country to Generic and Provider to either Asterisk or Generic.

    2. Define extension numbers in your PBX for use as SIP lines in OneAlert.

You'll then add a SIP line in OneAlert to match each extension you want to use.

      • 3CX: ClosedCreate an outbound rule to define the extensions that can be used with the SIP trunk you created for OneAlert.
      • BroadWorks: ClosedThe SIP line extension you enter in OneAlert must match an extension on the BroadWorks trunk group being used by OneAlert.
      • CallSprout: ClosedThe SIP trunk is configured to route numbers that start with 0 to the SIP trunk. Therefore, you don't need to define extensions in CallSprout; just SIP lines in OneAlert.
      • GoTo Connect: ClosedCreate dial plans > simple dial extensions.
  2. Create a OneAlert SIP registration.

Refer to Create a OneAlert SIP Registration.

  3. Adjust the SIP general settings.

Review the Customizing SIP Settings section to see if you need to make adjustment to any of the default SIP settings.
