Change the Multicast TTL

Tip: It's not typical that you'll need to set the multicast TTL (time to live).

This is the number of network routers (or hops) packets can travel through before being dropped. When left at the default value of 255, packets can travel through an indefinite number of routers. For example, changing the value to 0 means that packets only travel to the Paging Relay switch and any device directly connected to the Paging Relay device. Typically, customers do not change the default value.

However, should you desire to define the network area packets can travel through,

  1. Navigate to Device Config > Misc Settings.
  2. Enter the number of routers (or hops).
  3. Click Save.
