Floor Plans

Upload floor plans into Revolution to view your locations more accurately within the map utility. Images can include an office plan, building overlay, or any image that helps you place endpoints in an accurate location.

Within Revolution you will have access to uploaded floor plans.

  • Dashboard — When viewing the Endpoints Map you will see a blended overlay of your floor plans, it does not allow for floor selection if you uploaded multiple floors.

  • Configuration > Endpoints; Endpoint List — When editing an individual endpoint, the map will show your floor plans and will allow you to select individual floors.

  • Configuration > Endpoints; Endpoint Map — This view will show you a blended overlay of your floor plans, it does not allow for floor selection if you uploaded multiple floors.

Upload your floor plan images as a new Media file so that you can select them from the Floor Plans page.

  1. Go to Configuration > Media.

  2. Select Upload.

  3. For Name, enter a value that is easily recognizable for the image you are uploading.

  4. Select Choose File and use the file navigator to select your image.

    Accepted formats include: SVG, BMP, JPG, and PNG.

  5. Select Close.

The Floor Plans page lists all uploaded floor plans. From this page you can filter, edit, and delete floor plans as well as create a new floor plan.

  1. Go to Configuration > Floor Plans.

  2. Select New.

  3. For Building Name, enter a value that describes your location.

  4. For Available in All Sites:

    • Enable to ensure all your site locations have access.
    • Disable and select a Site to limit which site has access.

  5. In Floors, select add a floor. Optionally, you can repeat this sub-procedure for each floor of your building

    1. For Floor, enter a one- or two-character designation for the floor (alpha-numeric only).

      This is what is shown in the floor-selector of the Revolution map tool.

    2. (Optional) For Elevation Minimum and Elevation Maximum, enter the range of elevations for the floor.

    3. For Floor Plan Image, select the image you uploaded with Uploading a Floor Plan.

      The drop-down list shows the Name field from your media upload. The text entry field will auto-filter as you begin typing the name of your upload.

    4. Place the floor plan on the map:

      1. For Enter a location, begin typing a location (location name, city name, zip code, etc.) and select the result from the drop-down.

        This will zoom and center the map on the location.

      2. Zoom and move the map to your desired location. Hold the Ctrl key for zooming with a scroll wheel.

      3. Select Drop Image, to place the image on the map.

      4. Rotate Rotate Floor Plan icon, Resize Resize Floor Plan icon, and Move Move Floor Plan icon the image on the map.

      5. Adjust the Opacity slider to set how the floor plan appears on maps elsewhere in Revolution.

      6. Lock Lock Floor Plan Icon the image in place to prevent it from moving. You can unlock the image, if necessary. When you save the floor plan, it will automatically lock the placement for you.

    5. Select Save and repeat for additional floors.

  6. Select Save to save the positioning and return to the Floor Plans page.
