Configure Your Speakers
Note: Only All Sites Admins have full access to configuration.
Your supported IP speakers need to register with UNP in order to use them to send or receive notifications.
The basic configurations are:

If you haven't already, set your DHCP option 72 to the UNP IP address. DHCP Option 72 WWW server value allows Syn-Apps hardware and Syn-Apps API-certified IP devices to automatically register with UNP. See DHCP Option 72.

Multicast is required for audio attached to notifications. Check with your network administrator to confirm that either your network is configured for multicast or Syn-Apps Paging Relay(s) have been installed and configured.

If your using Honeywell's X-618 DCS system, configure it for UNP.

- Assign a custom name to your speakers.
- Group speakers together by destination code.
- Configure SIP-compliant IP devices not running the Syn-Apps IP Device API so they can receive audio attached to notifications.
- Configure static streams that allow you to communicate with your legacy speakers.
- Unlicense speakers you don't want to use as endpoints.
- Multi-site organizations only: Assign sites to speakers – manually or dynamically.

You may want to adjust default configurations to better suit your environment.
- IP speaker volume.
- text looping for notifications with audio.
- how often UNP should update its list of IP speakers.
